Oldest Child of William Divine Claybourn

"Aunt Kit" lived most of her life near Divide, Illinois, east of the town of Texico. It is believed she was born in Tennessee because her parents did not come to Jefferson County, Illinois, until after her birth. She married Joe Boggs in 1857, but he was killed during the Civil War. After the war she married Sam Starnes, the brother of her step-mother Elizabeth Starnes Maxey. Sam was a prosperous farmer who had good painted buildings, a spacious yard with grass and trees, and orchards. Aunt Kit died of cancer. Some of her descendants still live around Centralia and Salem, Illinois.

- Harriet M. Boggs: Died Dec. 28, 1858, aged one month, twelve days.
- Joseph M. Boggs: Died September 2, 1861.
- Alla L. A. Boggs: Died Sept. 2, 1864, aged three years, one month.
Married (2nd) Samuel J. Starnes, Born April 11, 1839
- Willie Starnes: Born April 16, 1866. Died July 9, 1867.
- Sammy Starnes: Married Rose Hawkins and lived at Salem, Illinois. Many descendants live there.
- Elvy (a twin girl nicknamed "Dimmer"): Married (1st) Elmer Whitlock
- Leta Whitlock: Born 1886, Died 1921. Married William Spencer Claybourn, a second cousin.
Elvy then married (2nd) William Bush and lived in St. Louis. A daughter lived there.
- Alvy (a twin girl nicknamed "Bob"): Was married and had a family.
- Catherine (Kate): Married Dave Parker
- Daisy - Lived in Texas
- Maudie - Lived in Indiana but owned property in Jefferson County.
- Essie - Married a Hoskins. Believed to have lived in Texas.
- Rose: Married William (Bill) Howell
It is not certain if the children above with Sam Starnes are in chronological order, but also at Jordan's Chapel are these graves of Aunt Kit's children:- Nettie Starnes: Born in 1863, Died July 8, 1881, aged 18 yrs., 4 mo., 11 days.
- Morton D. Starns: Born April 5, 1875, died November 13, 1877
- Francois D. Starnes: Born December 3, 1876, died November 15, 1877.
